Rims

Wheels are often called ‘rims,’ though technically this is only a partial truth. Rims are actually the outer part of the wheel, the part that is measured. If you have 19” rims, you have wheels with a 19” rim. The circular outer part that would touch the tire is the rim.
Potholes are some of the most common contenders for damaged rims. If you feel a vibration while driving or the wheels seem uneven and make noise, it’s time to get the rims checked, and possibly replaced if the rim can’t be straightened out.
